I owe, Christian Aid Ministries
Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. 1 Corinthians 4:2

A famous French philosopher left a will that read, “I have little, I owe lots. The rest I give to the poor.”

In today’s economy, many of us feel that way. We often hear people say, “We really don’t have enough to need a plan.” This mentality keeps many Christians from experiencing the blessing of knowing that they have been faithful stewards, even in the final testimony of stewardship, their will.

Scripture does not say that faithful stewardship is only for those who have accumulated large amounts of wealth. In fact, one of the greatest compliments Jesus gave to a steward was to the widow who had little to give, but was faithful with what she had.

You are worth more than you think. When you examine your assets, you will probably find that you have more than you realize. Your home, household goods, savings accounts, and real estate all add up.

What can you do to properly plan and steward what God has placed in your care? For many, a will is sufficient. For others, it might be necessary to create a trust. A trust is definitely needed if your estate is large enough that there will be estate tax implications, or if you have minor children. Either should be combined with a durable power of attorney to manage property in case of disability prior to death. Regardless of the size of your estate, it is important that you complete your planning.

Don’t procrastinate

It is human tendency to put off this sort of thing. We don’t like the thought of death, hence we postpone planning anything associated with it. The Bible tells us that death is imminent because of sin and the fall. Therefore, we must face reality and think about others. A will is a good way to be a faithful steward and to disperse your earthly possessions as smoothly as possible.
