On March 22, a massive fire broke out in the Rohingya refugee camp in Bangladesh, destroying more than 10,000 shelters. This blaze killed fifteen people, injured 560, and displaced more than 45,000. In addition to homes, essential facilities including a main hospital, suffered severe damage in the fire.
The fire continued burning for nearly eight hours, well into the night. Reports stated that military checkpoints and fencing hindered immediate help. Fellow refugees pitched in and helped extinguish the fire. They also assisted the injured as they could.
Please pray for the Rohingyas. Thousands of them face the difficult road to recovery in the months ahead. Pray also for our clinic staff as they connect with the refugees and offer help as they can.
