Karina* is busy sewing on her home’s front porch. She doesn’t seem to mind the hot Niger sun beating down on the metal roof overhead. She hurries to finish sewing a little girl’s dress for a customer who wants it done before the holiday tomorrow.

When Karina joined a SALT Savings Group last year, she started saving to expand her business. She bought two more sewing machines with her savings and a loan from the savings group.

Now that she has three sewing machines, Karina is teaching seamstress lessons to six local women. These daily lessons also give her a wonderful opportunity to share the Christian faith with her unbelieving students. Pray that the seeds she sows will bear fruit.
